Linda Henry is a British born actress who was brought up in Peckham, London. In her early years she spent some time with the ‘Old Vic youth Theatre’. At the age of sixteen Linda was in the same acting group as rowan Atkinson in Edinburgh. Then at seventeen she went to ‘Webber Douglas’ and set up a production company called ‘buster’ the company is still around although Linda is no longer involved with it. Linda is well known to a British audience as she’s been in a number of shows such as, ‘The Bill (ITV)’, ‘Eastenders (BBC 1)’, ‘A Touch of Frost (ITV)’ and the popular BBC comedy ‘Birds of a Feather (BBC)’. But she is best known for her role as Yvonne Atkins in the hit prison drama ‘Bad Girls (ITV), in which she stared from 1999-2003. Linda is also known to the big screen having stared in the 1995 Channel 4 film ‘Beautiful Thing’ and the 2005 film ‘The Business’.She is currently in Eastenders as Shirley Carter,Kevin Wicks's(Phil Daniels) fiery ex wife who is also the mother of Carly(Kellie Shirley) and Deano(Matt Di Angelo).

Linda was born in 1963, south London. She was a successful stage actress in her younger years and has worked with the Royal National Theatre.

TV roles have included stints in dramas Born To Run, Trial And Retribution and Touching Evil, as well as starring in feature film Beautiful Thing. She also appeared in EastEnders in 1992 as the prostitute mother of teen tearaway Mandy Salter.

Shirley is not Linda's first hard nut role as she starred as convict Yvonne Atkins in ITV prison drama Bad Girls.

Linda has one daughter, Ellie, born in 1993.
